Summary
RIVAL's matches and AI run on your device. There is no developer-operated account, analytics service or advertising SDK in the app. Gameplay habits and progress are stored locally. Optional Game Center and StoreKit purchases use Apple's services and require a network connection.
The public version last checked on October 12, 2026 was 1.1. The Story purchase functionality described below is part of version 1.2 submitted for review; this policy does not announce its release.
Data We Do Not Collect
RIVAL does not require a separate app account or collect your location, contacts or photos. We do not send gameplay habit records to a developer server or an external AI API. There is no analytics or advertising SDK included in the app. Apple account and Game Center sign-in are handled by Apple, not by a RIVAL login form.
Local Gameplay Data
The app stores attack, defense and movement habits, attack results, wins, settings, selected equipment and Story progress on your device using local app storage. Completed-round observations inform later rounds; no generative AI service receives these records. Learning Reset clears the AI habit and attack-result memory, not all wins, settings or Story rewards.
Purchases and local progress are separate. Restore Purchases does not restore deleted local gameplay records. Device backups are governed by your Apple settings; RIVAL does not provide a developer-hosted cloud save service.
Game Center
RIVAL includes an optional Total Wins leaderboard. Apple manages Game Center identity and account services under its own privacy policy. When authenticated, RIVAL submits ordinary RIVAL win counts and an encoded play context containing preferred fighting style and highest round. It reads and displays leaderboard names, ranks, scores and that play context, including your own entry. This information is not sent to a developer-operated server.
Game Center is not required for offline matches. Leaderboard publication and availability depend on Apple approval and service availability.
Purchases and Story Access
In version 1.2, StoreKit retrieves product information and verifies Story purchase entitlements, restored transactions and eligible original paid-app transactions. Transaction and access information may be retained locally to determine access and equipment eligibility. Apple processes payments; RIVAL does not receive your card number or Apple account password, and does not send transactions to a developer payment server.
Purchase access may change after Apple reports a revocation. Eligible existing paid-app access is checked separately from a Story purchase. A restore restores verified access, not local Story progress. Apple's handling of account, purchase and Game Center data is described in Apple's Privacy Policy.
Support Communications
If you email support, the developer receives the email address and information you choose to provide and uses it to respond to your request. This is separate from automatic app data collection. Do not send passwords, card details or unnecessary personal information.
Children's Privacy
RIVAL does not operate a child profiling or advertising service. Optional Apple services are governed by Apple's account requirements and parental controls. Please avoid including children's personal information in support requests.
Changes to This Policy
If this policy changes in the future, the updated version will be posted on this page.
